Travelling to the Highlands of Scotland, and Loch Ness.
There is a wide range of options now for travelling to the City of Inverness from the south. For the busy executive there is a choice of daily flights to Inverness from Luton, Gatwick and many other UK and International airports. For those of you fortunate enough to travel at a more leisurely pace, there is a choice of rail and road routes, which can make the journey to Scotland a pleasurable part of the holiday. If you are travelling from the continent, there is the new Superfast ferry, direct to Scotland.
Directions to the Highland Club.
From Inverness, take the A82 to Fort Augustus you cannot fail to see the Abbey when you arrive at the village.
From A9 Daviot when travelling north on the A9 take the B851 left turn at Daviot signposted Fort Augustus, follow this road approximately 12 miles to the junction with the B862 where you turn left following Fort Augustus signs. Continue through Errogie village and Whitebridge passing the highest point on the road anywhere around Loch Ness ( stop at the viewpoint for a few minutes and marvel at the extensive views). From here it is all downhill to Fort Augustus and the Abbey gates are on the right as you enter the village.
