Loch Ness Cottages Environmental Policies
Green Tourism & Eco Tourism
Green tourism differs from eco-tourism as Green Tourism businesses must make efforts to reduce their impact on the environment and may not use the environment or nature as a marketing tool. Ecotourism businesses use environment and nature as a marketing tool and may not be making efforts to reduce their impact on the environment.
Members of the Green Tourism scheme include business conference centres and city centre hotels, self catering accommodation, restaurants, visitors centres and even some distilleries and transport operators.
As a consumer, ultimately it is you that makes the difference by choosing businesses that are committed to you and the environment, and we hope that in choosing a Green Tourism Business Scheme Member you will pass on your experience to others and encourage them to do likewise.
Our eco friendly business statement.
We at Loch Ness Cottages are committed to providing a good, high quality service whilst also minimising the environmental impact of our activities. A symbol of this commitment is our membership of the Scottish Tourist Board's Green Tourism Business Scheme. This scheme provides accreditation and encouragement for tourism businesses to reduce the environmental impact of their activities. By encouraging sustainable practices it ensures the continued enjoyment of the environment of Scotland for future generations.
