My partner and I have invested in one of the Old School apartments in this fantastic old building.

I have been contacted by a number of owners and potential owners through my website for information regarding the development.

There are many questions being asked by owners about the letting of apartments, the probable cost of letting and the likely return on investments. We have been letting cottages via Wilderness Cottages and larger properties for many years and are happy to answer your questions if we can and give likely (sensible) costs and returns on holiday rentals.

There are many questions owners need to ask about holiday rentals, but with regards to Fort Augustus Abbey the main problem we foresee is actually finding caretakers for doing changeovers on Saturdays. Being local we have our own housekeeper in place already to ensure the apartment is clean and warm for arriving guests. There seems to be a great opportunity here for a local business to take up this challenge.

We could have a solution, partially anyway as a new company has now been formed by an apartment owner, www.abbey-management.co.uk available to take over management of self catering properties in Fort Augustus Abbey, from phase 1.

For owners signing up with Wilderness cottages there is a possibility that we can take care of this for you, as we are based on Loch Ness and so have the required local knowledge and experience in all aspects of renting holiday cottages.

The Abbey Owners forum is live which will make it easier for all owners and other interested parties to communicate. I have a good knowledge in this field through my business www.tourism-site-fix.co.uk and having recently won a national Scottish enterprise award for online marketing, I know that there are big savings to be made in doing this. Likewise if any owners need a website for their particular property i will be happy to advise E-mail Andy
